Goethe Pop Up Festival

Goethe Pop Up provides a platform for hybrid initiatives that engage local public spheres beyond the cultural centers of Bangladesh. This is in line with the Goethe-Institut's goals of promoting creative and empowering ways of transnational exchange to reflect and expand knowledge. From numerous concept submissions reflecting diverse artistic discursive expressions and methodologies, the Goethe-Institut selected eight curators or artist collectives to integrate their work into an ecosystem of various Goethe Pop Ups across Bangladesh - celebrating our 60th anniversary.

JISR // BRÜCKE

JISR // BRÜCKE: From the Isar to the Padma is a Munich music collective, led by Dr Mohcine Ramdan. In 2022, they toured Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and India to exchange about musical cultures as part of the project The Sound of Faraway Lands. Local artists joined the ensemble on their way. In Dhaka JISR enthralled the audience at the National Theater Hall of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to celebrate the 50 years of Bangladesh, our 60th anniversary, and 50th anniversary of Germany-Bangladesh bilateral relations.
