The Goethe-Institut Bangladesh in partnership with HerStory Foundation will host the Sister Library on Saturday's at 4PM during the month of Ramadan with Elder Sister Zareen Mahmud Hosein who will read a selection of works about food on ZOOM.

About Elder Sister

Educated in a girls-school, Zareen has always been aware of the power of sisterhood, of girls helping girls to do and be better. Zareen is the Founder and Executive Director of HerStory Foundation and CholPori. Through the HerStory Foundation she hopes to give girls the mental tools to succeed at whatever they take up. 

HerStory promotes gender equity through education, storytelling and capacity building. It develops creative content and provides skills and leadership training. She is the editor of HerStories books. She is a Founding Partner of Snehasish Mahmud & Co., Chartered Accountants, and a CPA and an FCA. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from Smith College and a Master’s of Public Administration from New York University. She is a foodie.
 

ABOUT THE SISTER LIBRARY

THE SISTER LIBRARY powered by female excellence - it is a space to celebrate female creativity. The library holds one thousand works of women writers, artists and zine makers. It is an evolving and generative artwork that engages with an in-depth reflection on the visual and reading cultures of our times. The goal of the project is to bring together readers, to explore literary contributions, showcase artistic quality and celebrate women in the creative world as well as to foster interests and understanding of the accomplishments of female writers and artists.
