Together with the Liaison Office of the German Bundestag, the Goethe-Institut invited alumni and interested parties of the Europanetzwerk Deutsch programme in Brussels to a talk with the artist Marion Eichmann followed by a visit to the exhibition "Sight.Seeing Bundestag" on 6th of March 2023.

Gemeinsam mit der Vertretung des Landes Brandenburg bei der EU lud das Europanetzwerk Deutsch zu einer Lesung mit Antje Rávik Strubel am 09.11.2022 ein, deren Roman „Blaue Frau“ 2021 mit dem Deutschen Buchpreis ausgezeichnet wurde. Das Publikum erhielt einen Einblick in die Inhalte und den Entstehungsprozess des Romans. Die gelesenen Auszüge machten die Aktualität der Debatte um Gleichberechtigung, Machtverhältnisse auf zwischenmenschlicher und institutioneller Ebene, die juristische Aufarbeitung sexualisierter Gewalt sowie die Auseinandersetzung mit der Erinnerungskultur in Ost- und Westeuropa deutlich. 

Germany has a new federal government and will also hold the G7 presidency in the first half of 2022. In times of political crises in Europe and international challenges, what are Germany's foreign policy positions, especially in their European scope?

On the occasion of the publication of the Europanetzwerk Deutsch cookbook, Sarah Wiener, Member of the European Parliament, celebrity chef and patron of our project, was invited to talk about her political commitment and her passion for good cooking. How can a sustainable and diverse agriculture be implemented, especially against the background of the current energy and wheat crisis? How can we eat healthily and responsibly as a society? 

Isabelle Holz, lecturer at the University of Tübingen, Florian Rogge and Julian Schlicht, research assistants in the Cassandra project, examine how pandemics and their effects are reviewed in literature, what influence they have on our current perception of Covid-19 and, using selected international sources,  show how this pandemic is becoming collective memory.

Geert van Istendael, Belgian writer, poet and journalist, pleads for a new social contract after overcoming the Corona crisis. European solidarity should be more firmly anchored in politics and thus determine responsible and ethical political measures.

Interviewed by NZZ (Neue Züricher Zeitung), Dutch philosopher and historian Luuk van Middelaar explains how the EU's crisis management during the Corona crisis has changed from previous ones and why the present circumstances demand different politics. In doing so, he examines different positions within Europe with a clear commitment EU cohesion.
