Ausschreibung: L’aprèm’ du livre

Presentation of the programme
L'aprèm' du livre is the monthly book presentation series of the Goethe-Institut Kamerun. It gives authors the opportunity to present their books and facilitate exchanges with the public. Following an annual call for applications, a panel of jurors selects 11 authors* for a 2-hour book launch session every second Wednesday of the month.

Conditions for participation:

To apply:

• The book must have been published between 1st October 2022 and 30th September2024.  
• The Author must be a Cameroonian living in Cameroon.
• One should not have been a winner of the last edition.
• The authors of the selected books guarantee to the Goethe-Institut that they will not organise any book launch before the books are scheduled by the Goethe-Institut.

NB: Unsuccessful candidates from previous editions may still apply, without prejudice to condition 1.

Selection procedure and criteria

After the submission period the selection will proceed according to the following steps:

First fully anonymous pre-selections jury session with the following criteria:

1. Content quality (4 points)
2. Public interest (2 points)
3. Current affairs related to the publication (2 points)

The shortlisted candidates (max. 20) must hand in their books between November 18th and 22th, 2024 to the Goethe-Institut Kamerun Library, next to the Government Bilingual Primary School Bastos.

Second jury session after submission of physical copies of the books. In addition to the above 3 criteria, the following criteria will also be applied:

4. Scientific and/or literary reputation of the Author (1 points)
5. Physical quality of the book (printing, leaves, binding) (1 points)

The list of selected books will be published the 02.12.2024 and the first book launch will take place the 12.02.2025.
