TITLE | Aveuglée - La ruine de Mandy (Novel) |
SUMMARY | Aveuglée - La ruine de Mandy is the melodramatic story of a forbidden love affair between a talented young athlete and her coach. A romance that will propel them both to the pinnacle of stardom, and then lead to their downfall after they discover Mandy is pregnant and subsequently loses the pregnancy. This novel underscores the generational conflict between the two protagonists, as well as the manipulation of the 16-year-old athlete by her coach. It also allows us to delve into the heart of a court case that will uncover issues related to social pressure, uninvolved parenting and, above all, the frailty and fears of a young teenager whose life will be turned upside down. |
ABOUT THE AUTHOR | LAMENU TEDJOU was born in 1982 in the town of Foumban, Noun Division, West region, Cameroon. After completing his secondary education in languages and literature, he enrolled in Performing Arts and Film Studies (2003) in the university, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree, before starting his PhD studies. The courses he taught in the above-mentioned field and the film production projects he conducted will gradually pave the way for his literary career. Two key factors prompted him to resolutely steer clear of this course: firstly, the “Third World” – except you have the backing of 'developed countries', you have absolutely no way of producing films; secondly, literature is the lifeblood of cinema and cinema can only be sustained and boosted if it is based on a perspectivism literature. The medium-term goal was to have an adaptation of this novel in order to enable a widespread dissemination and for it to have a greater impact. LAMENU TEDJOU has several other novels, essays and practical guides that he hopes to publish in 2023. |

TITLE | Le sort des hiboux boiteux (Fantasy) |
SUMMARY | The young hero of the story, Abenem (which means "wicked heart" in Ewondo), is a 17 -year-old final year secondary school student who is initiated into witchcraft one night in a dream. He then found out that, for generations, despite the fact that his village is very poor, it is swarming with witches and wizards with extraordinary powers. The day he discovers the truth about the roots of the Nkol-Ewodo natives and his father's unjust sentence, he decides to rise up against them. He made use of his exceptional spiritual abilities to lift his village out of abject poverty. So, he changed his name from "Abenem", which made him commit evil, to "Abe", which signifies "guide". All these changes would seal the fate of the teenager, who discovered the supernatural at a tender age. The sluggish development of villages in Cameroon is often blamed on witchcraft. How does witchcraft actually work to stifle any initiative for progress in any community? Where do witches and wizards get their evil powers from to be able to destroy any attempts at development? How can spirituality enable one to better understand witchcraft and act as a driving force for local development? This book recounts the witch hunting process and sheds light on the supernatural realm, with all its horrors and mysteries. |
