Carah, whose real name is Enyegue Caroline Etoa, spent several years as lead singer with the groups The Smooth Band and Groove Collective, as well as singing backing vocals for artists such as Kareyce Fotso, Sanzy Vianey and André Manga. Her first musical experience came in the second year of secondary school when she joined the Collège de la Retraite orchestra.
