Whether film, visual arts, music, literature or performance, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus organizes a wide range of projects and series of events. Its aim is to share with audiences in Cyprus German cultural production, from past to present.

Co-creative Exhibition
EVROVIZION.CROSSING STORIES AND SPACES

Curated by Sabina Klemm and Sanja Kojić Mladenov, the co-creative exhibition EVROVIZION.CROSSING STORIES AND SPACES explores the current social and political situation in Europe and the idea of a European identity.
German Film Festival
Berlinale Selection 2024

Berlinale Selection 2024 is the fifth edition of the film series presenting current German cinema in Cyprus. The Goethe-Institut Cyprus has been organizing this film series since 2019. This year six German films will be shown, that were shown at the Berlinale 2023 and 2022. The films will be shown on the big screen at Pantheon in Nicosia from 1 to 4 February 2024.
Event series
Weeks of the German language

The Weeks of the German Language are organized annually by the Embassies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland and the Goethe-Institut Cyprus. The events aim to bring audiences closer to the German language and the culture of the German-speaking countries, as well as to highlight the benefits of multilingualism and intercultural exchange.
Contemporary Art
KunstRaumGoethe

KunstRaumGoethe is an event-series of the Goethe-Institut Cyprus launched in 2020 consisting of exhibitions with contemporary artists and curators, who are connected to Germany and Cyprus in different ways and/or deal with this in their work.
Theatre
New Stages Southeast

New Stages Southeast invites playwrights and theater professionals from Southeast Europe to exchange and develop current materials and themes. The exchange takes place within the countries, between the countries and with authors from Germany.

From April to October 2021 the Goethe-Institut Cyprus is celebrating Beuys' 100th birthday with an event series curated by Marina Christodoulidou.

Goethe on Demand

Streaming plattform of the Goethe-Institut

On Goethe on Demand, the streaming platform of the Goethe-Institut, we present a variety of online film programs, film festivals and film series that can be streamed from home. The films are presented in original language with subtitles. They are accessible online and free of charge after registration.
