We live in in an age of fast technological progress. The ways in which we learn and teach, as well, follow this pace of change. One of the most important advancements the field of education has seen in recent years is the rise of digital learning tools that help to convey information to learners fast, effortlessly, and to the greatest benefit for learners possible. Technologies such as the internet and websites, digital libraries, smart devices, and search engines have thus proven to be invaluable instruments.

As part of its project “Methodology – Didactics – Digital”, the Goethe-Institut Cairo, with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office, organises a digital training series complementing the efforts of the Egyptian Ministry of Education to implement its 2018 action plan “Education 2.0” aiming to reform the Egyptian education system. This training covers virtual teaching methods for different school subjects and strengthens the digital competencies of teachers. It combines the fundamentals of teaching with examples of interactive digital approaches, discussing their objectives and applications for different school subjects.
