Xavier Blake


Xavier Blake, is a US based producer and director with over two decades of experience in the public television realm. His short film Promise Land was nominated for a Emmy in 2021 and he was awarded an Emmy in 2019 for the documentary Charlie’s Place.

Blake traveled to Sierra Leone in 2019 while working on documentary tilted Gullah Roots that explore the relationship between the Enslaved Africans and the Gullah Geechie community of the Southeast United States of America. The finished film aired national across the United States of America .

He’s work on the Downing of a Flag earned him both a Peabody nomination and News & Documentary Emmy nomination as well.  He has served as a moderator for the INPUT Conference since 2021 and served as the National coordinator for the United States from 2019-2022.  

An avid community builder, Blake believes centering historically marginalized voices is imperative to build the kind of society where everyone can thrive. Currently he serves as Executive Director of One Columbia for Arts and Culture. One Columbia for Arts and Culture is a non-profit organization working to promote collaboration among citizens, the cultural community, and city government through celebrations of Columbia’s arts and historic treasures. The goal is to enhance the quality of life for all residents, attract tourism to Columbia, and further build a vibrant and equitable and diverse cultural community.
