What are the technical requirements?

For an optimal learning experience, you need a Windows or Mac desktop computer or laptop. We do not recommend tablets, iPads, smartphones or other mobile equipment for this course, although it is possible to use them. You need a headset with microphone. If you use the built-in speakers and microphone on your laptop, it might cause an echo for the other participants in the online classrooms.

How can I get the learning material?

You can buy the course book when you enroll.

What does extensive, intensive and super-intensive mean?

Extensive means that you will be learning 9 teaching units per week and that you will need more time to reach your goal. You will be attending classes only 3 times per week. Intensive means that you will be learning 12 teaching units per week and that you will have more time to learn. You will be attending classes 4 times per week. Super-intensive means that you will be learning 25 teaching units per week and that you will be completing an entire level within 7 weeks. You will be attending classes 5 times per week.

Learn German with the pros: the Goethe-Institut Äthiopien offers extensive, intensive and super-intensive courses. Once your ability has been individually assessed, you will begin lessons at the appropriate course level. If you have no previous knowledge of German, you will automatically start at level A1.
