(born: 26.06.1896 in Markneukirchen, died 07.07.1950 in Altenburg), Author, Teacher

After studying Philosophy and German Literature, Hans Herbert Grimm worked as a teacher of German and French. In 1928 he published the novel Schlump under the pseudonym Emil Schulz. The book reflected on the experiences of a soldier and the inhumanity of the First World War. The novel fell victim to the burning of books by the Nazi regime in 1933 and was republished in 2014.
