Stefanie Green
Teacher of Modern Languages at Farlingaye High School, East England
Hi, I’m Stefanie and I currently teach Modern Languages at Farlingaye High School, a large comprehensive school with approximately 2000 students in the East of England. Farlingaye is a PASCH school and part of the EAST multi-academy trust. German is a popular subject at the school and offered in all Key Stages.
I have been teaching German and Spanish in all Key Stages and French in KS3 since qualifying as a teacher in 2004. Whilst gaining an MA in Applied Linguistics, I also taught languages to adult learners. I also have a particular interest in extra-curricular activities in Modern Languages education to boost motivation, vocabulary acquisition, including phonics and the development of translation skills and speaking skills. I truly believe that MFL should be enjoyable and accessible to as many people as possible, and this is something I aim to promote through my work and now also as a GEM.
Additionally, I also develop teaching and learning materials for commercial providers and run CPD and networking events for teachers of German in the local area. In 2016, I was honoured to receive the German Teacher Award, in recognition of my work.
I am currently Head of KS3 German, my school's PASCH coordinator and the Modern Languages Subject Lead for EAST SCITT, a local provider of initial teacher training.
