Accompanying Teacher
to the international German Olympiad (IDO) 2024
Become part of the IDO 2024! The Internationale Deutscholympiade (IDO) for German learners from all over the world will take place in Göttingen from the 15.07.2024 to 22.07.2024. One German language teacher from each country will accompany the two finalists. In Göttingen, teachers will engage in an interesting complementary training programme for teachers, focusing on German language and culture, and have the unique opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from all over the world. What is the experience as an accompanying teacher at IDO like?
There will be plenty of time for you to ask questions, exchange ideas with colleagues about your own creative teaching practice, and to engage in leisure and cultural activities together with the IDO participants. You will take part in the opening, closing and award ceremony.
You are also responsible for chaperoning the two students travelling with you (if necessary, travel to and from their home country to Germany and back, assistance with certain programme points/activities as part of the IDO, if necessary also duty of care in the event of illness of the students).

Costs: Scholarship, travel expenses will be covered for a return journey from the UK to Göttingen
Requirements:
- You are responsible for the two UK finalists who take part in the IDO.
- Additionally, you participate in the training seminar for teachers throughout duration of the IDO.
- You have not received any other scholarship from the Goethe-Institut from 2022 until 2024
- Availability on the 15th March 2024 to attend the national IDO final at the Goethe-Institut London.
