Banan Sakbani about herself:
German was crucial for my integration into Austrian society and my educational path. I learnt German at AHS Anton-Krieger-Gasse, graduated with distinction and started studying law. I won the ORF speech competition "Sag's Multi" in German and Arabic. The language made my pre-scientific work on asylum policy easier and, after a period as an assistant in a law firm, led me to the Chamber of Labour and the NGO Ashoka.
