- Live talk by Vincent Doumeizel, Ocean Advisor to the United Nations Global Compact and Director of the Food Programme at the Lloyd’s Register Foundation
Our Guests and Speakers:
Vincent Doumeizel is an Ocean Advisor to the United Nations Global Compact and Director of the Food Programme at the Lloyd’s Register Foundation. He discovered the untapped potential of algae during his travels in Asia and now champions their diverse applications to address global challenges, including climate change, ocean pollution, biodiversity loss, and food insecurity. As the author of the book “Seaweed Revolution: A Manifesto for a Sustainable Future,” presented at the United Nations, Vincent founded and co-leads the first global coalition for algae in partnership with the CNRS, working to structure this emerging industry. A passionate advocate, Vincent regularly speaks at major events, including the United Nations General Assembly, FAO conferences, TED, and COP meetings, highlighting algae as a key solution to the world's ecological and social crises.
Julika Tribukait, Senior Policy Advisor, Ocean & Climate, WWF Germany, is a passionate and experienced leader in the field of environmental governance. Her current focus is on protecting the ocean and the people that live by, with and from it through enhanced ocean and climate law and policy. With 10+ years of experience working for government agencies and ministries, consulting companies and NGOs, she has profound expertise in national and international environmental governance, law- and policymaking, advocacy, strategy and project development in this field.
