Concerts as part of „Slow Touring“
LIE NING moves casually between the genres of indie, soul and R'n'B, creating timeless pop moments and emotionally powerful images full of dreamy depth and bitter seriousness. Manchester-based Lavender Rodriguez explores the sounds between alternative soul and afrobeat by night, whilst working as a classical composer by day. Together they will be performing a very special set at Islington Mill, as well as their own songs.
LIE NING's new single
Dimelo was released on May 10, 2024. This track marks the beginning of a series of five singles that will be released over the course of this year. Musically, they are taking a clear step towards a more consistent, poppier sound. All five tracks are thematically closely linked and deal with topics such as belonging, the strong need for love and harmony, as well as pain and fear in times of an enormous shift to the right in Germany and the Western world. These themes are interwoven in an ambitious fusion. Dimelo contains the essence of spring, the spirit of a new beginning. The single tells a very personal story and evokes an incomparable memory.
Their highly acclaimed debut album "utopia", produced by Grammy winner Stephen Fitzmaurice (known for his work with Sam Smith, Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige), was released in April 2023 via Humming Records. Singles such as "error" and "i see you" conquered international and domestic playlist placements on Spotify such as GLOW and RADAR GSA. Their headline tour in May 2023 sold out venues in Berlin and Hamburg and attracted huge crowds at festival appearances at Fusion, Haldern Pop and Appletree Garden. The response from the press was equally overwhelming: The respected music magazine Musikexpress called them "artist of the hour", while Vogue celebrated them as "their new favorite artist from Berlin". In November 2023, LIE NING released their EP "sweatshop", becoming the first German musician to be named a Spotlight Artist by Spotify's GLOW. Parallel to the release of the EP, LIE NING not only graced the cover of the renowned global GLOW playlist, but also shone in New York's Times Square.

LIE NING's lapel already boasts an official appointment as a Spotify RADAR Artist, critically acclaimed performances at SXWS, Fusion and the Reeperbahn Festival as well as support for Milky Chance, Giant Rooks, ÄTNA & Raphael Saadique. Impressive collaborations with brands such as Paco Rabanne, Dom Pérignon and Tommy Hilfiger underline their creative versatility. Last but not least, they were nominated for the 2023 Pop Culture Award as Favorite Artist.

As part of the Slow Touring project, LIE NING will visit Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin and Brussels.
