Tangerines and Spices II / Interdisciplinary Residency for Writers and Illustrators
Aim
Fairy tales are very popular throughout the South Caucasus, so the residency aims to encourage writers to write new ones. Creating new fairy tales provides an opportunity to reflect on current events and motivates children to learn about new stories and literary characters. In this way, the distance between the mythical and the real can be diminished, and even the invisible boundaries can dissolve as they enjoy each other's stories, pains and joys.
The residency is designed in two stages. The first round was held in Armenia.
During the stay, the participants begin to write modern fairy tales.
At the end of the residency, the selected texts will be published in a collection Modern fairy tales from South Caucasus.
The fairy tales written in the respective languages will be illustrated and translated into foreign languages (English, German) in order to make them accessible to a wider audience and to present them at various international book fairs and cultural spaces.
Who can apply? Writers and illustrators from Azerbaijan.
How to apply? Please send your CV and an Application Form including a description of short concept of the fairy tale (in English or Russian) you will work on during the residency to maia.danelia@goethe.de
