Yawan Rai After completing his Masters in Business Studies from Bangalore University, he decided to pursue his passion and hone his self-taught photography skills to next level by joining a formal course in the field of photography and that’s when he moved to Delhi and joined a Photography Diploma course form APEX (Academy of Photography Excellence), New Delhi, where he finally found his true love towards the medium and experienced a new way of communication to the outside world through his photos.
He is currently based in his own hometown, Gangtok, Sikkim, where he works as a Media Person in a school (Taktse International School) and simultaneously works as a freelance photographer doing personal and commercial work. He along with his two other friends has started a small Photo Gallery in the town of Kalimpong called Himalay Photo Gallery with a vision of learning and sharing its knowledge to the people of the hills.
