Writing Protects Hertrains girls in creative writing, using it as a means of treatment, expression, healing, and resistance. The project aims at protecting girls from repression and helping them not to drown in the distractions of social media. New names have been introduced to the Yemeni literature scene, through the project, which finally, resulted in a book of literary texts entitled Sprouting Wings.
Ebtesam Al-Qasimi is an author, journalist, and cultural activist. She perfected her writing in short stories. Ebtesam wrote for several Arab newspapers, magazines, and websites. She has won numerous awards, including the Al-Maqaleh Literature Award for her short story collection Finally...I Dared and represented Yemen at international short story conferences.
