Work in Progress

Goethe-Institut Villa Kamogawa, Hall

Tilman Hecker, director, stage designer and current Villa Kamogawa resident, invites you to an interactive afternoon with music and video.

"Under the Fog / Lichter Spiegel" is an interactive-participative musical video installation for playing, playing along, singing, singing along, listening, practicing listening, trying out instruments or musical alienation from instruments, with texts by Dōgen, Yuk Hui, Dodie Bellamy, Sayaka Murata and others, as well as texts brought along, invented, made up by the visitors. An Open Mic situation will be combined with a recording studio, resulting in a multi-layered film. Leaflets may be distributed and taken away. Those who don't want to play, sing or hum, speak or read aloud can simply sit and listen, read silently or take a nap. By entering the space, visitors give their consent to be filmed as an integral part of the installation performance.
