Sarah Almoneem
Path / "طریق"

"Path" is a collaboration between a choreographer, a dramaturg, and a scenographer, in one performance.
"Path" discusses the idea of "transition" that a human experience which causes him/her estrangement with the modern society standards within an anthropological dissection of human estrangement from the body, the other, and the universe. This is tackled through an endless journey of some girls looking for their own freedom in this world.
The first stage of the performance "Path" (I/my body) is the story of a lonely girl, who lives in an estrangement from herself and body. She sees a fascinating light that drives her out of her bed. The girl decides to go on a long journey towards that light driven by her curiosity. Along that journey, she discovers how cruel the world is; this cruelty looks like it surpasses her desire to find beauty and pure delight.
