Are you a scholar looking for alternative training opportunities?

Would you like to become an electronics technician, laboratory assistant or mechatronics engineer? Or would you prefer to become a hotel manager, cook, business administrator or logistics specialist? Or would you prefer to learn a nursing profession? Germany offers a unique training system as an alternative to university studies. With an extremely wide variety of possible professions, almost everyone is catered for. And once you have successfully completed your training, there is a 95% chance that you will be offered an employment contract.

Isn't that reason enough to find out about the different professions and talk to recruiters at the apprenticeship fair at the Goethe-Institut? The German Embassy will also be there to inform you about visa requirements.

Shortage of skilled workers in Germany?
Trainees from Namibia!

Today's Namibian-German relations are stable, sustainable and characterised by open dialogue, and cultural and scientific relations are broad-based. The topic of green hydrogen has put Namibia on the agenda for investors and companies from German-speaking countries. And with about 120,000 German tourists a year, Namibia is a well-known, popular and safe destination. In the capital Windhoek alone, with a population of about 450,000, there are 10 schools offering German as a language, while the number of German university partnerships with local universities is steadily increasing.

However, there are currently few opportunities for school leavers to pursue non-academic training, and the local vocational training market is poorly positioned in this respect. At the same time, more and more German companies are having excellent experiences with Namibian apprentices - but until now there has been a lack of opportunities to get to know each other, explaining various perspectives and offer guidance. Therefore, the Goethe-Institut Namibia, with the support of the German Embassy, is offering an Apprenticeship Fair on 21 & 22 April to give German companies the opportunity to present themselves to Namibian school leavers.
