Hausa International Book and Arts Festival (HIBAF) by Sada Malumfashi

Hausa International Book and Arts Festival (HIBAF) by Sada Malumfashi is a crisscross festival of arts and language by and for African creatives. The festival opens up discussions about the Hausa language through history, music and arts from the past and present displayed to a new and exciting young audience. The festival showcases the best of contemporary African literature, poetry, music, art, film, and theater in Hausa through digital collaborations. Hausa International Book and Arts Festival (HIBAF) is a digital and physical festival of three days of arts and language. It is an experience of identity, migration and movement in the context of African and diaspora literature, through panel conversations, documentary storytelling, photo essays, webinars, and workshops.

Enugu Photo Festival by Sam-Eze Chidera Ifeakanwa

 

The Enugu Photo Festival by Sam-Eze Chidera Ifeakanwa themed "Shades of Coal" is set to explore Enugu’s coal mining history. This edition will explore the impact of coal on the socio-economic and cultural landscape of the region, from the early days of mining to the 1949 Iva Valley Massacre, and its role in Nigeria’s fight for independence. The festival will focus on the untold stories of coal mining in Enugu, using visual art and photography to reflect on the industry’s profound impact on the region’s economy and society. Follow this project here

Abuja International Arts Ability Festival, by Donald Unanka organized by Potters Gallery Initiative, is an annual celebration dedicated to showcasing the artistic talents of person with disabilities. Aligned with the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, this festival aims to promote the creatives ambitions of disabled artists while advocating for greater inclusion within the arts and creative economy. Benue Book and Arts Festival (BBAAF) by Su'ur E Su'eddie-Vershima AGEMA

Benue Book and Arts Festival (BBAAF) by Su'ur E Su'eddie-Vershima AGEMA is a premier cultural event, organised by SEVHAGE Publishers and SEVHAGE Literary and Development Initiative, that celebrates Nigeria’s Middle Belt by showcasing the region’s creativity and social impact. The festival was founded initially in 2015 as the SEVHAGE Literary Festival and rebranded to its current name in 2019. BBAAF hosts events across various locations throughout the year, culminating in a week-long hybrid summit, held both virtually and in Makurdi, Benue State. This year, the main summit will take place in Makurdi, with an additional one-day event in Nottingham, United Kingdom. As part of SEVHAGE’s multi-genre literary competition with an international reach, BBAAF includes festival-specific spoken word slams and contests for secondary school students.
