Welcome to the Goethe-Institut!
With 151 Goethe-Instituts in almost 100 countries, we are the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, active worldwide. We promote knowledge of the German language and international cultural cooperation. Everywhere, our staff helps to connect people globally and sustainably in a living cultural and educational network. Through our programs, we encourage
intercultural dialogue and cultural participation and strengthen the development of civil society structures. Around the globe, we connect people, ideas and cultures. In doing so, we respect differences, because we appreciate the value of diversity.

The Goethe-Institut e.V. initiates the EU funded project AFRICA-EUROPE PARTNERSHIPS FOR CULTURE: WEST AFRICA (2025-2028). This West Africa component of the Africa-Europe Partnerships for Culture will promote cultural integration and dialogue between 15 West African countries and between these countries and the European Union.

The West African cultural scene is one of the most creative and dynamic in the world, however, remains fragmented along national borders. In order to achieve significant and visible impact, this project will focus particularly on the West African festivals sector, supporting increased
