Industry Access at Berlinale 2025

The QueerFrames Screenwriting Lab is returning for its second season. This program will provide six emerging queer writers and writer-directors from South Asia with bespoke training and mentorship to develop their fiction feature projects and gain industry access at Berlinale 2025.

This year’s industry mentors include notable figures such as Alankrita Shrivastava (Made in Heaven), Saim Sadiq (Joyland), and Fawzia Mirza (The Queen of My Dreams).

Participants will engage in core instruction and workshops led by esteemed professionals including Vishnu Sinha (Adjunct Faculty, Columbia University), Benjamin Rost (Director and Lecturer, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg), Mark Szilagyi (Producer and Project Manager, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg), and Paromita Dhar (Filmmaker and 2021 Berlinale Talents Fellow).

The deadline for applications has now expired (11 October 2024). Selected filmmakers can learn more at @thequeermuslimproject or queerframes.com.

This initiative is supported by the Goethe-Institut and partnered with Women in Film.
