First pan-Pakistan school headmasters' conference 2024

The first Pan-Pakistan Principal's Conference brought together headmasters from schools across Pakistan where German is taught, promoting a shared vision for educators.

On 16 November 2024, the Principals' Conference 2024 of Bildungskooperation Deutsch was held in Islamabad. This important event was organised by Goethe-Institut Pakistan in collaboration with Headstart School, Kuri Campus and brought together headmasters from schools across Pakistan where German is taught. The aim was to discuss innovative education approaches and promote sustainable development in the education sector.

A day of collaboration and vision

The event began with a warm welcome from Andreas Schiekofer, Director of the Goethe-Institut Pakistan. In his opening speech, he emphasised the crucial role of educational collaborations that promote global competencies and help address important challenges such as climate change. A highlight of the conference was the speech by Jan-Gerald Kraußer, Cultural Counsellor of the German Embassy in Islamabad. He emphasised the growing importance of German language education in Pakistan and said: ‘The increasing number of students learning German not only shows our long-standing cooperation, but also a promising future in which a new generation of bridge builders is growing.’

Focus on education and sustainability

The conference provided a platform for exchanging ideas in interactive workshops and discussions. Topics such as the integration of German Foreign Language lessons into everyday school life, the promotion of environmental awareness and the importance of intercultural communication took centre stage.

The headteachers shared their best practice examples and discussed how they can implement sustainable education strategies in their schools. Particularly impressive was the participants' commitment, who saw both German lessons and the topic of sustainability as key to the future.

Outlook for the future

The Principals' Conference 2024 was another milestone in German education cooperation and emphasised the importance of collaboration and innovation in education.
