Multisensorischer Ansatz im Unterricht

Mandatory principles of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) means involving all channels of perception, a large number of motor activities in the class, and using a variety of visual expressions, including objects. For example, in the first class on “Blindenschrift”, it is not enough to show students how to lay out font symbols for the blind using eggs in a video plot, or to draw these symbols on paper. Students should always try to lay out the letters or words in the egg grid themselves. When doing this assignment, children may move the eggs or objects that replace them from place to place by themselves. This allows students to get information through the motor channel of perception of information, which is prevalent in most elementary school students. When working with video and worksheets, only the visual and auditory channels are used, as is often the case in regular lessons, and the kinesthetic learners do not gain anything. Eggs are precisely what can become the main impression for children, and a way to feel the letters in Braille in this class. The authors of the course recommend never excluding tasks related to involving different channels of perception from the scripts (especially tactile) and motor activities, such as “running dictation” (Laufdiktat), “live memory”, and “live modeling” (the work of a typewriter for the blind, autopilot, sunflowers turning to follow the sun, automatic railway crossings). These kind of tasks make it easier for most children, and especially weak students, to perceive, understand, and memorize information. The second argument in favor of these types of work is the FSES requirement to do extracurricular activities in any form other than lessons. That means that in extracurricular activities there should be something that is not in the regular lessons. With the exception of work that involves the actuation of tactile and motor perception channels, there is a risk that extracurricular activities will turn into regular lessons. In this case, two regulatory documents are violated: FSES (Federal State Education Standards) and SanPiN (Sanitary Rules and Regulations).
