The online German proficiency test is an excellent way to assess your current knowledge of the language. This quick online German test allows you to get a clear idea of your German proficiency in just 15 to 20 minutes.

Although this online German test offers an approximate assessment, if you wish to attend a course at the Goethe-Institut, it is recommended that you take a more comprehensive level test. If you wish to enrol in a German course at the Goethe-Institut, please book the Online Placement Test.

Online Placement Test

This online placement test is designed to gauge your level of German.

Once you have taken the online placement test, you will receive the result by e-mail and can enrol on a course of the corresponding level. 

After completing the German proficiency test, you will receive your result by e-mail. With this result, you will be ready to enrol on a German course of the corresponding level.

  • Minimum age: 12
  • Classification: Individual
  • Precise result: e.g. A1.2, B2.1
