As part of the European Music Week in Riyadh, the Goethe-Institute presented a series of three mesmerizing concerts by the acclaimed Arcis Saxophon Quartett at the German School on November 13th. From the first note at 9:00 a.m. to the closing chord at 12:30 p.m., the audience was treated to a splendid showcase of European classical and contemporary music.

Sensitivity, clarity and captivating rhythms characterize the sound of the Berlin-based Alexandra Ivanova Trio led by the Austrian pianist and composer of Bulgarian roots. With Niklas Lukassen on double bass and Nathan Ott on drums, the trio navigates between Jazz, Oriental and Afro-Cuban music.

The Alexandra Ivanova Trio led by the Austrian pianist of Bulgarian heritage and features Niklas Lukassen on double bass and Nathan Ott on drums. In their music, the trio navigates through different rhythms, patterns and claves with intuition – including influences from jazz, Oriental and Afro-Cuban music. In 2021, they recorded their debut album “Beauty in Chaos” featuring a collaboration with guest artist Lynn Adib – to be released this year.
