Step 1: Are you already a library member?

You can learn about the terms of use of our library on our website. The library team will gladly advise you should you visit in person. If you’re already a library member, you can continue on to Step 2.

Step 2: Have you already registered for a free account on MyGoethe.de?

If you haven’t already registered on MyGoethe.de, you can easily set up an online account now. You will use your login credentials for MyGoethe.de to log in to the Online Catalogue. With MyGoethe.de, you’ll also be able personalise other online services of the Goethe-Institut from our language, culture, and library departments. If you have already registered for MyGoethe.de in the past, you don’t need to register again. Continue directly to Step 3.

Step 3: Get unlocked!

In order to activate your account, the library team needs the email address with which you are registered on MyGoethe.de. Please fill out the “Registration for OPAC Use” form below and send it to the library. The library team will inform you once your account to the Online Catalogue has been activated. Activation generally takes no more than two business days.

Registration for the Online Catalogue

In our library’s Online Catalogue (OPAC), you can browse our holdings around the clock and gain an overview of the books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, and electronic resources that make up our collection.

If you are a library member, you can sign in to the Online Catalogue with your account. The personalized OPAC offers the following advantages:

View media you currently have on loan, including due dates
Renew the loan period for your media
View pending and paid fees
Suggest acquisitions for the library
Comment on media
View media you’ve previously borrowed

What do I need to register for the Online Catalogue?

In order to take advantage of the personalised functions of our Online Catalogue, you need to have a valid library membership and have registered for a free Mein Goethe.de account.
