Teacher for German as a Foreign Language and Examinations

The Goethe-Institut Singapore is looking for a qualified teacher of German as a foreign language with an expected starting date of February 1st, 2025, with an employment scope of 80-100%. The contractual conditions are based on local law.

The Goethe-Institut is the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.

What you can expect:

  • DaF lessons in possibly all levels of the CEFR, for adults and children from the age of 9 and in various formats (face-to-face, hybrid and Zoom courses, individual and group courses), incl. company courses
  • Preparation and follow-up of lessons (planning, documentation of lessons, tutoring in online course rooms and homework control)
  • Participation in the development of new course concepts and materials
  • Implementation and documentation of end-of-course tests
  • Learning guidance
  • Participation in events for German learners, course evaluations, course participant surveys and other projects
  • Participation in further training
  • Conducting Goethe-Institut examinations at all levels (including placement tests), as well as regular participation in training and certification for examiners
Our courses mainly take place Mon-Fri evenings and on weekends.

What sets you apart:

  • German native speaker or proven native speaker competence (C2) in German
  • Subject-related university degree and DaF qualification (postgraduate studies)
  • GFL teaching experience in adult and children's classes and in various course formats (face-to-face, Zoom, online tutoring)
  • Very good knowledge of the use of digital media or the willingness to develop this knowledge
  • Good knowledge and handling of common Microsoft Office products, in particular MS Outlook and TEAMS or the willingness to acquire them
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Intercultural competence
