Rights

Our films are subject to non-commercial screening laws. The films can be rented for non-commercial screenings only. Copying the films onto video or other formats is against the law. Unlawful screenings are subject to prosecution. In order to protect the creators’ rights, the films must be shown in their entirety and cannot be altered. Screening rights cannot be granted to third parties. The films can only be promoted via press releases.     

Shipment

The shipment is to be conducted exclusively through a courier service. The cost of return shipping will be charged to the borrower.

Schedule and deadline

Please order the movies as early as possible so that we can meet your deadlines. The return of the DVDs must be made by the date indicated on the packing slip date. Usually it is the first business day after the screening. The shipping costs are at the expense of the borrower. Please send the films to the following address:

Screening report

The information on number of screenings and viewers on the report attached list are mandatory. Each damaged copy must be reported immediately.

Damage

The borrower is liable for any damages caused and reparations or copy replacement costs may be charged. Any damage or loss of a DVD has to be immediately reported to us. The borrower is liable for any damage or loss.

General Information

The Goethe-Institut reserves the right to cancel any film rental, in case of disregard of the lending conditions. The Goethe-Institut kindly requests mention on all public media related to film programs, which use DVDs of the Goethe-Institut. (The logo of the Goethe-Institut will be sent to you.)

Order

If you order for the first time, please use our online registration. As a registered borrower you can order the desired films under your customer number via an online form.
