How does an online live course work?

In short: Our online live course is like "normal" lessons, only it does not take place in a classroom at the Goethe-Institut Thailand, but in a virtual classroom in Zoom. As in normal lessons, you have a professional and exam-certified teacher, you use a course book and workbook and learn together with other German learners. You will also take turns learning in different social forms: in plenary, in individual work, in a group, etc. You will practise all skills, do your homework and receive feedback on your learning progress from the teacher.

Do I have to be very familiar with computers or smartphones?

No, it is enough if you can use your computer, tablet or smartphone normally, e.g. open documents, type words on the keyboard or click icons. We take care of the technology in the background so you can fully concentrate on learning German. And should you ever have technical problems, please contact us. We are happy to help!

What technology do I need to have?

We use Zoom for our classes because it best supports our diverse teaching methods while ensuring your privacy. For the best experience we recommend a headset with a microphone and a webcam.

Can I take part in the course with a smartphone or tablet?

Yes, you can participate normally in class with a tablet or a smartphone, communicate with your fellow students, use the whiteboard, upload assignments, do your homework and more. However we recommend using a laptop or PC since the screen is larger and typing on a keyboard is easier.

Where can I buy the coursebook and workbook?

How the course works

Online lessons in live sessions
You learn with a professional teacher together with other German learners. For the class, you will meet online in a Zoom room. For the course you need the right course and workbook, a stable internet connection as well as a camera and a microphone.

A professional teacher prepares and carries out your lessons using state-of-the-art teaching methods, so that you can make rapid progress in all skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking.

Whether you have chosen a blended learning course, an online course via Zoom or a classic on-site classroom course at Goethe-Institut: You always have access to our learning platform "My Goethe" in addition to your booked course. There you can, among other things
