Goethe-Saal

Pre-Registration In an effort to protect their child from the mass extermination of Jews, parents send their son to a relative in the countryside somewhere in Eastern Europe. However, the boy's aunt dies unexpectedly, and so the child is forced to set out on a journey and break through the wild and hostile world, in which only local rules, prejudices and superstitions apply.

However, his struggle for physical survival is replaced by another struggle after the war. A struggle he is not even aware of, a struggle with himself, a struggle for his soul, for his future ...

Painted Bird is a deeply dramatic story dealing with the direct relationship between horror and cruelty on the one hand and innocence and love on the other. It is the first and most famous novel by the author of the books "I was there" and "Pinball" - Jerzy Kosiński, one of the most important and distinctive and world writers of the last century.
