From Istanbul to Baghdad, Tokyo, Saigon, and Jakarta to Berlin, the film program "New Voices: Asian Diaspora on Screen" highlights a growing community of diasporic filmmakers in Germany and beyond. With a focus on feminist and queer narratives, moving images offer a radical reinterpretation of home, togetherness, and memory.
Following the screening at the Goethe-Institut Taipei, an online discussion and Q&A with the filmmakers will take place. The film program is curated by Feng-Mei Heberer.

Women Make Waves Int’l Film Festival (WMWIFF) aims to celebrate the achievements of outstanding female talents, to explore different aspects of female experiences, feminism, and beyond, and to promote equality and rights of all genders. By covering a wide range of genres, issues, and representations of gender, WMWIFF seeks to promote great cinematic arts by female talents and to advocate gender equality through films with feminist consciousness and various subjects.
