GAPP 101- workshops for prospective exchange coordinators

Our workshops are geared towards teachers/coordinators that want to learn more about the opportunity of starting a GAPP exchange at their school. By the end of the workshop you will have a wealth of new information that you can put into practice right away to start a GAPP exchange at your school.

Don’t miss the chance to apply for our free regional GAPP workshop for prospective GAPP teachers/coordinators. These workshops are geared towards teachers that want to learn more about the opportunity of starting a GAPP exchange at their school.
 
GAPP supports educational exchanges between German and American schools. Reciprocal group exchanges, homestays, and integration into the partner school build confidence and independence. Students gain first-hand experience of another culture, discover shared values, and form lasting friendships. 
 
Workshop Outcomes

- Learn, connect and collaborate with like-minded teachers from all over the US 
- Get first-hand information from and network with the GAPP staff

Questions and topics we will cover:
  • What is GAPP?
  • How do I apply and implement a successful GAPP exchange?
  • Available scholarships, grants and insurance
  • Guidance before, during and after the exchange
  • How to approach stakeholders (students, parents, administration, host families)
  • Professional development opportunities offered by the Goethe-Institut USA
  • GAVE (German American Virtual Exchange) 
By the end of the workshop you will have a wealth of new information that you can put into practice right away to start a GAPP exchange at your school.

Participants arrive in Atlanta, GA and check into the hotel

Saturday, April 20

GAPP- Workshop:
9:00am- 2:00pm EST 

Detailled program will be sent to accepted participants. In order to participate, you must be available to join at the start of the workshop on Saturday, April 20 at 9am. 

GAPP covers: 

- A maximum of $350 for economy flights or train tickets 
- Lodging from April 19-20, single room 
- Lunch on April 20 

Should you wish to stay longer, it would be at your own expense.
