Climate justice and sustainability
September 30 - October 28, 2022
In light of the worsening climate crisis, it is increasingly clear that relying on science and technology alone won’t be enough to save our planet. We also need to drastically rethink our approach to teaching and learning. Empowering students is key – but how can schools and educators engage with these complex issues? What is their role in promoting climate action? Focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework, this event series will highlight new methods, materials, and best practices to help teachers integrate climate justice and sustainability into their curriculum.
Exploring STEM in Germany
Exploring STEM in Germany is a new TOP website with resources for teaching about environmental topics. Through the storyline of a class trip to four locations in Germany, students will have the opportunity to explore sustainability, renewable energy, climate change, and ecosystems. At each stop, a companion reader will give students more insight into each topic. They will also engage in various hands-on activities to discover STEM in Germany. This curriculum is intended for middle school STEM educators but can be adapted to fit many grades, ages, and learning outcomes.Visit Website
