We commissioned singer-songwriter Antje Duvekot to compose a song in honor of Earth Day.
What better way to communicate the urgency of climate change and the need to restore our Earth than through a song. We asked award-winning singer songwriter Antje Duvekot to compose a song and create a music video in German and English in honor of Earth Day. A native of Germany living in Somerville, Antje is known for ‘turning fear into resilience and isolation into community’ – listen to her song below! A new choreography created by the Boston Dance Theater for video
Commissioned by the Goethe-Institut Bostonj, Boston Dance Theater creates a new choreography which translates themes of division, polarization, reunification and coming together into the language of contemporary dance. The work plays hommage to three decades of German reunification and at the same time reflects the current state of American society. The pandemic lends the theme additional timeliness.

Zur Feier von Beethovens 250. Geburtstag beauftragte das Goethe-Institut Boston die jungen Komponistinnen Heather Stebbins und Diana M. Rodriguez, die beide eng mit Boston verbunden sind, Werke zu komponieren, die auf dem Septett in Es-Dur op. 20 von Beethoven basieren. Die Ensembles Sound Icon und Winsor Music teilen Auszüge aus diesen Werken in einer Reihe von digitalen Aufnahmen, die sicher zu Hause gemacht wurden. Wir hoffen, das Konzert im November 2021 im Institut nachholen zu können.
