Special evening at the Union Leauge Club


 

On August 18, 2022, the Friends of Goethe invited it’s supporters to the Union League Club for an evening of celebrating German culture. The FoG board members and Dr. Leonhard Emmerling, Director of the Goethe-Institut, were excited to welcome longtime supporters as well as many new faces. Dr. Sally Metzler, curator of the Club’s art collection, presented the collection’s history and some of its highlights. The board members discussed ways forward towards supporting the German language and culture in the Midwest through cultural events and by identifying possible benefactors and sponsors for the Goethe-Institut’s activities.
