Land Acknowledgment

The Goethe-Institut San Francisco respectfully acknowledges the Ramaytush Ohlone, the original inhabitants and stewards of what is now called the San Francisco Peninsula. Indigenous communities have lived in and moved through this land over hundreds of generations and Indigenous peoples from many nations make their home in this region today. We acknowledge the privilege of living and working on their traditional homeland, and as guests, we affirm the sovereign rights of the Ramaytush Ohlone as First Peoples. It is with sincere reverence that we pay tribute to the Ancestors, Elders, and Relatives of the Ramaytush Community.
