Associate Professor TRAN HUU QUANG
born in 1953 in Hanoi, Trần Hữu Quang holds a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Saigon's Faculty of Liberal Arts (Saigon, 1974), an M.A. in sociology from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium, 1992), a Ph.D. in sociology from the Institute of Sociology (Hanoi, 2001), Associate Professor in sociology (2009).
As a visiting professor, he currently teaches sociological theories, rural sociology and the sociology of mass media at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (National University of Ho Chi Minh City) and the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City.
He was one of the translators into Vietnamese language of The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism (1904-1905) of Max Weber, and co-author (with Bui Van Nam Son) of the introduction (Hanoi, Tri Thức Publishing House, 2008). Dr. Quang is director of translation, annotation and author of the introduction to the Vietnamese version of The Social Construction of Reality. A Treatise in the Sociology of Knowledge (1966) of Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann (Hanoi, Tri Thức Publishing House, 2015).
