Đặng Hoàng Giang is a non-fiction author and social activist. In his writings, he analyzes contemporary social and cultural phenomena in Vietnam as he deals with questions related to power, justice, dignity and development. His books have stirred controversies and widely influenced readers.

As a social activist, he works to expand the space of civil society, spread knowledge, break down prejudices and stigma and build a society of tolerance and compassion.
