Musical portrait of the bustling metropolis, where the melodies of Orient and Occident merge.
Together with the Berlin musician Alexander Hacke, bass player of the band „Einstürzende Neubauten“, director Fatih Akin embarks on a musical expedition through the streets, backyards and clubs of Istanbul. Hacke and Akin present a total of 15 bands: from pop, rock and folklore to rap and electronic beats. They create a manifold portrait of the multicultural metropolis at the Bosphorus, capturing the musicians’ passion for music and their proudness of their country.
