Sabelo Booi is a practicing visual artist, founder and director of Beks & Booi Creatives (Pty) Ltd. He was born and raised in a small township known as Reeston/Dice, in the outskirts of East London in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. He attended and is a product of Nkangeleko Intermediate and Sophathisana Senior Secondary School, the public schools, located in Reeston. Art is something that he has always had passion for. However due to the Limitations of being born into a disadvantaged community he could pursue art as a mural activity both in his junior and secondary school. In 2018 he enrolled at Walter Sisulu University (Department of Visual Arts) graduated for his Diploma of Fine Arts in 2020 and made his own contribution towards heritage restoration through his research and exhibition for his advanced diploma in 2021. He specializes in Ceramics, Drawing, Painting and photography as his major art mediums.
