“Power Talks’ essence is unpacking the often skewed dynamics of power“

Joining this conversation opens up the region to the necessary but long overlooked potential of diverse funding opportunities; moreover, it allows the province to form its own voice in the process of partaking in the wider discussions around such forms of power.

Programme

in Bhisho

Bhisho’s event will be hosted at the Mbaula Backyard Sessionz, a private home/studio venue, which has over the past few years hosted several visiting artists, community markets, food stalls, and music performances. The programme will commence with a cycle tour of the capital, highlighting Bhisho’s historical relevance and sites. The start of a live painting session is planned to coincide with the riding tour, continuing throughout the proceedings.

Gqeberha’s event will be hosted at The Athenaeum on Athol Fugard Avenue, a venue in the CBD of the City. Programming will begin with an opening graffiti art live performance by @fal.kab and @MookLion, two of the province’s more active street writers. The performance centres around the many challenges experienced by artists practising in public spaces.
