“What if Africa had never been colonized?” was the theme of the three-day workshop at the Memorial Dr. António Agostinho Neto, Luanda. The workshop was directed at young, emerging artists that hadn’t yet embarked in a career in comic production. The 15 participants received inputs from national and international artists and were tutored by Delfina Bastos from Estúdio Olindomar. They worked in duos on their own interpretations of the subject and presented their wonderfully creative results to a jury composed of comic artist Lito Silva, graphic designer Eliane Alves, and film director Kamy Lara. The works are now on display in the exhibition “Henrique Abranches – Um Traço Angolano”, about the founder of the Angolan comic scene.
