Comic Production Process 1/2/3
The Sudanese team, ArtKanoon, discusses the first phases of producing a comic as the first part of their three-part series. When developing a story pool, even the smallest idea offers the potential to enhance an outstanding success. The keyword here is teamwork. Through a demonstration, the importance of highlighting details in the story and erasing mistakes as a team that an individual would have overlooked is made clear once again. There is always a high probability of predicting in the development phase how successful the story can become.

The Writing Phase makes its' appearance as the second. The prime focus is the development of scenarios and character design. It is made clear that the first chapter of a comic is of immense importance, as these pages formulate a first lasting impression on the reader. Moreover, the director of the comic — the panel distribution — is reflected upon. In these phases, the word teamwork is capitalized too to analyze and perfect the details of the script. The third part of the trilogy deals with the sketching phase. This includes sketching, strokes, shadows, coloring, and final touches. It becomes coherent that thanks to the previous phases, the speech bubbles only need to be filled in with the finished text. An artist can also decide to bring in subtitles of his language. The various phases demonstrate the diverse skills of the individuals who ultimately create a joint comic and how they naturally build on each other.
