Chapter 6Tell us a story- fairy tales in GFL-classes

The Fairy Tale Box is a box with didactic material on Grimm's fairy tales, which are known in different versions by children all over Europe. They are interesting stories that children like, and the familiar content allows them to express themselves in a foreign language. After each lesson they will understand and be able to say a little more in German. The activities are mostly designed as pair and group work, many tasks are open-ended and the students can show their imagination and creativity. Individual fairy tale didactic activities include different materials and tools such as worksheets, memory, dominoes, bingo, craft instructions, CDs with music, DVDs with the fairy tales, game instructions, ideas for group formation, etc. Many activities are designed in a playful way, so that the children will look forward to each lesson and welcome the teacher full of expectation.

• Target group: kindergarten children - 4-6 years and primary school children - 6-10 years
• Language level: A1 - A2
• Time frame: 4-5 lessons
