Short films are more than just "short films" - they surprise, they arouse curiosity, they get to the heart of the matter. They come in an infinite variety of expressions, playing with shapes, colors and materials.
The short film program Kinder-Kurzfilm ab! offers all the lovely and rewarding qualities of the artistic form of short film - and even more: Kinder-Kurzfilm ab! has been specially compiled to support language acquisition in primary schools and is based on the curriculum for German as a foreign language.
Teachers' handouts have been developed to complement the program. These allow you to playfully practice with the children the theme-specific vocabulary from the films, get to know simple sentence structures, do puzzles, write - and speak. The movies whet the kids' appetite for more, and serve as conversation starters and memory aids.
The material covers various curriculum areas and trains the skills of Listening - Reading - Understanding - Writing - Speaking in varying degrees of intensity.
