Munich, February 1943: As a member of the resistance group "White Rose" Sophie Scholl helps to produce leaflets against the Nazi regime. She supports her brother Hans Scholl's plan to distribute the leaflets at Munich University as well. The siblings are denounced by the janitor and immediately arrested by the Gestapo. Robert Mohr, a Gestapo special commissioner and experienced interrogator, threatens Sophie with charges of high treason, aiding the enemy, and subversion of military strength. Calm, confident, and exceedingly clever, Sophie tries to deny it. She almost succeeds in convincing Mohr of her innocence, and her release certificate is already issued, but at the last moment a phone call comes that changes everything...
